God and gender

Why do Christians insist that God has a gender? Its
like... so archaic. Helloooo? Most of us have moved on
to the third millenium... I guess they also think that God has
a beard and listens to little naked winged cherubs playing harps.

If I had to choose a sex and a description, God would be a
woman with dreadlocks digging to Rage against the Machine.
